Objective

Replace the current aging firewall with a modernized architecture

Impact

  • no or heavily interrupted network traffic between Intranet/DMZ/Internet
  • IRC servers will not or only very intermittently be reachable

Objective

We are observing network spikes and delays on the departmental firewall traffic, resulting in detoriated networking services. Restarting the firewall will clear the IRQ queue, and ameliorate networking services.
