FSVM Core Scheduled maintenance : network core stack resiliency

Objective

Reinstate full resiliency of the network core stack, after a decreased resiliency caused by a stack member switch dropout in the iGent datacenter facility following yesterday's firmware upgrade.

Actions

  • investigate stack member dropout
  • remediate on-site (if possible)

Impact

  • During the intervention, full network availability will be maintained where possible. If required, a rolling reboot may inflict a short interruption (1-2 minutes) of specific services.

Mitigation

  • none

16:28 core stack has been reconfigured from 4 to 3 stack members ; as network bandwidth has been architecturally overcommitted, no detrimental network performance is expected. Vendor will be contacted for remediation.

16:22 stack fiber wiring from 4 to 3 members to (temporarily) restore resiliency.

16:17 boot loader diagnosis reveals issues with internal NAND storage ; vendor intervention required.
