Intranet connectivity is seriously impacted due to an issue with our DNS server.
A configuration error (committed July 5th) surfaced today, when the BIND service was restarted after a security update. Operations resumed after fixing the error.

Since 08:13, there are problems authenticating on the IRC proxy server. At this moment it is not possible to control a local pc from a remote network (from home). We are investigating.
15:13 Further research did not reveal the erroneous operational events on the authentication server, which led to the issue on the proxy server. As no permanent remediation has been executed, we will closely monitor the authentication server for repeating events. As the proxy issue has been fully mitigated, this ticket is marked as 'fixed'.
